Arowana Eleven Cafe 福建面 is a cozy spot tucked away in the residential lanes of Taman Arowana Emas, a quiet neighborhood in Seberang Jaya. The cafe wears a distinctive Chinese clay tile roof that hints at a nostalgic charm, setting an unhurried tone before you even step inside. The interior strikes an interesting balance between Thai and Chinese influences, with décor that feels carefully curated to evoke a calm, antique-inspired ambiance.

This place suits those looking for a peaceful breakfast or lunch retreat, especially locals who enjoy a slower pace away from busier commercial areas. It’s not the kind of cafe that buzzes with crowds but offers a tidy, clean environment where you can really take your time over a meal or drink. The seating and space invite a quiet moment, whether you’re catching up with friends or just settling in for some reflective downtime.

The menu leans into Penang-style favorites with dishes like Hokkien Mee served in a claypot, which is a practical touch that keeps the heat longer and subtly changes the pace at which you eat. The prawns in the noodles stand out, with a rich, prawn-sweetened broth that some compare to the Singaporean prawn noodle style, yet with its own local personality. Other choices include fish fillet hor fun and some comforting toast options featuring kaya and butter, anchoring the cafe in traditional breakfast flavors with a local twist.

Pricing here skews slightly higher than typical hawker stalls, reflecting the cafe-like setting and ambiance rather than street food casualness. It’s wise to check the menu prices beforehand, as some visitors find the bill more elevated than expected for a casual meal. The overall experience feels more like a deliberate slowdown rather than a quick pitstop, encouraging guests to savor both food and atmosphere.

Since the cafe is situated in a residential enclave without obvious signage, first-timers will likely need to rely on navigation apps. The discreet location adds to its quiet appeal, but does mean it’s not a spot you stumble upon by accident. Visiting during morning hours will let you enjoy the peaceful environment at its fullest, whether you're after a comforting breakfast or a light lunch with a relaxed vibe.

In summary, Arowana Eleven Cafe appeals most to those who appreciate a calm, homely setting paired with authentic, hearty Penang-style noodle dishes. It’s a place where the food warms you as much as the understated, antique ambiance, best suited for locals or travelers seeking a slower, more reflective dining pace in a less trafficked neighborhood.

Nestled in a residential neighborhood, this cafe may not be immediately visible. Once you spot the familiar Chinese clay tile roof with sweeping curvature on the corners, be ready to step into what looks like an old Chinese inn. We came here for her famous Penang Hokkien Noodle, which may taste like Singapore's version of Prawn Noodle. The savory broth is rich with the sweetness of prawn and hits the spot immediately upon the first sip. They have many other traditional dishes worth trying. Note that parking may be challenging on a busy day, and they are only open from 7:30am to 2pm everyday except Wednesday.

The food here is pretty good. I had the big prawns Hokkien Mee, around RM20, and a pumpkin barley drink, about RM5.90 if I remember correctly. The Hokkien Mee is served in a claypot, which keeps the heat right until the last bite – a nice touch. I love the ambience and décor, a charming mix of Thai and Chinese styles. You can feel the owner’s effort in creating a cosy, antique-inspired space, almost like dining in their own home. Prices are at typical café levels. Service seems to be handled by just two people. There’s no visible price list, so you’ll need to ask item by item. This is the part I disliked. The place is tucked away in a residential area – easy to miss without a signboard.

This place was recommended by someone to me. I was also told that this place had their menu in Chinese so if I’m okay with it, I can give it a try..Well nowadays everything it’s in your hands..OUR BELOVED HANDPHONE with GOOGLE TRANSLATE!! .. It cannot be as difficult as old times, right? My son and I visited this place on a Saturday morning..It’s a home converted in to a shop..Very well designed and maintained..Nice ambience..I was impressed with the way it looked..We were the only customers at that moment..We sat down to order and this guy comes to take our orders..I was prepared to Google the menu but since it was not busy at that moment, he nicely and fluently explained the menu for us...I was glad he did that… Drinks were good, and really kao..I liked it..The wan tan noodles was excellent too..My son loves wan tan noodles and he is very particular about his noodles. He can distinguish each and every wan tan noodles he eats..This was nice and chewy and it reminded me the very first time I tried wan tan noodles. I would definitely recommend this place. Parking may be an issue as it’s situated in a residential area but I guess we will be lucky to get one..Please do not park in front of someone’s home..
